So many people wonder why their web site doesn’t show up in Google’s natural search results…

…either at all, or, on the first few pages of results.
At ISG, we hear all kinds of people reach out for help by saying things like:
“My web site isn’t showing up in Google!”
“I’ve spent a lot of time optimizing my web site for the keyword phrases I’m hoping to attract, but I’m still not showing up in the results!”

Wow! 2010 has proved to be a very productive year for Internet Marketing, and…

2011 is looking to be even more powerful!
Over the last 3 years, my Internet Marketing team and I have worked very hard to assure the things we produce are a true extension of our clients’ uniquenesses, and that their voice is consistently heard:
- in person,
- on the web,
- via e-mail,
- on the Social Networks, and
- across all forms of New Media.
Over the next series of blog posts, I’ll be reviewing what I call the Four Stages of Internet Marketing, and most importantly how it can help you succeed online. These stages serve as the foundation for our Web Marketing Report & Action Plan.
This fundamental concept has helped hundreds assure they know exactly what they’re responsible for, and most importantly, that they’re involved in each crucial step of the Internet Marketing process.
Stay tuned, I’m really excited about helping you reach for the stars in 2011 (and beyond!)
In the meantime, let me know if you tried any Internet Marketing in 2010, and how it went? Feel free to comment below, or contact me directly.
Have a wonderful day,
Charly

I’ve met with two people in the last month who have had their online business listings hijacked…

…by savvy competitors.
What is an online business listing?
Many web sites, such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yelp, etc., automatically index your business’s name and address from public sources of information.
However, they don’t automatically e-mail you and let you know it’s done; even worse, if you don’t ‘claim your business listing’ — someone else can (usually it’s relatively easy to do, too!)
You’re going to want to be sure that you don’t let it happen to you!
Here’s how…
This will require 15 to 30 minutes of time, depending on how fast you type!
- Go to GetListed.org.
- Type in your business name and ZIP code.
- Click “Check My Listings” (if you have a long business name, and aren’t exactly sure how it’s listed – click “Advanced Check” below “Check My Listings”).
- Review each of the listings (Google, Yelp, Bing, Yahoo, Best of the Web, and Hotfrog) and click “Claim your listing” for those that aren’t claimed).
As a bonus, you might also want to setup your business in MerchantCircle.com as well (click “Sign Up” in the upper right hand corner).
If you need any assistance, feel free to contact me!

BaseCamp is amazing – if you have a moment, be sure to check out their online video tours.
In any event, moments ago, they released 20 new tips for using BaseCamp, very easy to use and very powerful.

A little over two weeks ago, I told you exactly how to create a place for your business…

…using the cool, new Facebook Places feature!
In this post, I’m going to review exactly what you’ll need to have, and what you’ll need to do to properly claim your business in Facebook Places.
Before you get started, Facebook will be asking for a copy of ONE of the following (in PDF format is best):

If you’re on Facebook, and use a smart phone, you’ve probably noticed…

…a new feature called Facebook Places.
Facebook Places allows people to:
- “check in” at wherever they’re at, and
- post a description of what they’re doing.
For businesses that have a store, or an office, it’s a great awareness generator.

If you (or someone you know) are going through, have been through, or are thinking of…

…a divorce — and you have a child, or children — it’s extremely important to consider this life change from your child’s (or children’s) perspective.
I never understood just HOW important this was, until I went through a divorce myself in 2005.

As you might know, I’ve been a really big fan of the Kindle — that was…

Last week, I was shocked to see the promotion of the iPad App on Amazon’s site when I logged in! It sure solidifies the fact that Amazon’s focus is moving content more than Kindles!
(I’m sure not *everyone* saw, or continues to see, this screen on Amazon, because based on my settings, Amazon knows I already own a Kindle, and just recently got an iPad!)
…until I got my hands on the new iPad (with the updated Kindle app!)
I wasn’t sure if I’d like the iPad, but the way I approached it was to just “do it” and see how I felt about it, in my life…
