Can you imagine generating income all day, everyday, in a setting that no one has to physically operate?

How much freedom would that that give you to do what you really want to do, when you want to do it?
I’m a firm believer in passive income, and enjoy brainstorming with people how they can create passive income in their lives through the Internet.
Even if you’re not interested in having more personal freedom, passive income is a great sustainer — helping your business survive through lean times.

As discussed in my initial blog post “Online Income - an overview“, the first method mentioned was Product or Service Sales.
In a nutshell:
- You offer a product (or products) or a service (or services) online via a web site.
- Visitors browse your site, and order your product or service, online.
- The money from their purchase is wired into your bank account.
- You fulfill the order.

“How do you make money online?”

Once people realize I’m in the web design and development business, I usually get asked that question in some shape or form.
There are literally hundreds of ways to make money using the Internet, however, in terms of what we do — web site design and development — I sum them up into these four methods:

We call it the Showcase Effect…

it’s the reflection that appears around the bottom of a photo, giving it the artistic showcase look, making it look like it’s popping out of the screen at you!
Back in June & July of 2007, when we were creating the design concepts for our new web site, our inspiration for this came from two places:
- Seeing showcased artwork in a gallery, and
- Cover Flow, which is part of iTunes and MAC OS X’s Leopard.
As you can probably imagine it plays an important role in the simplicity of use in our new ISG Web Site.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve made it available in our ISG Content Manager on select web sites. It allows you to Showcase photos, videos & PDFs (check our News section to see an example of showcased PDFs).
If this technology interests you, or you have questions about creating and achieving your goals on the Internet, Contact Us, and we’ll get help you out right away.

Simple, intuitive and the way of the future.

I believe those very words capture the theme of our new, beautiful, results-oriented web site.
The process for us took about a year, and was a very collaborative effort among our team (as you can probably imagine, we’ve had some lengthy discussions about it in our weekly team meetings).
In that process, we first took a look at our very own creations and asked: Read the rest of this entry »

Do you have a billboard in the desert?

If a web site is built, and not promoted — it is as effective as a billboard in the middle of the desert.
We can build the most beautiful, functional, results-oriented web site, but if no one visits it — what’s the point?
Promotion, and more importantly, the results proper promotion will generate — is of top importance to us.

You have an urgent need — you check the Instant Service option — we’re notified and either e-mail or call you back (based on your preference) immediately.

It’s that simple.
The consistent follow through on our behalf — is part of our company culture — which directly relates to our commitment to service.
We’ve had Instant Service as an option to our clients since the ISMI days in 1998, and we take it very seriously.
If you want to know more — be sure to check out our History of Instant Service.
We have also implemented it for clients over the years as well — be sure to read about Bob Wade & Cypress Realty in the aforementioned History of Instant Service.

People make mistakes, and fortunately, when it comes to the content in our customers’ web sites…

…there’s no worries with ISG.
We snapshot (or backup) all of the content in our hosted web sites hourly.
After careful analysis — we’ve determined the “hour-mark” to be a good average time to snapshot customer content.
