If you use Facebook, about 3 days ago you might have noticed a change…

there is now a “News Feed”, and a “Live Feed”.
You’re probably wondering what the difference is between Facebook Live Feed vs. News Feed – here go you!
News Feed
The moment you access Facebook – you’ll see your “News Feed”. The News Feed automatically shows you the stories it thinks are most important – primarily based on the amount of your friends who have liked and commented on them.
Events that historically appeared in the Highlights section are now in the News Feed.
This includes friends who are tagged in photos, become friends, become fans, join a group, etc.
Live Feed
If you want to see everything, unfiltered, the “Live Feed” shows that. It shows everything happening now, and continues to update in real-time as well.
From the sounds of things, most people aren’t a fan of this change – however, once you get used to it, it’ll become second nature!
See you on Facebook,
Charly

I personally like the live feed better… It irritated me when they made the change where it automatically put you into the news feed.

Another way to do it Phil, is on the bottom of the column on the left hand side you will see “More”. Click that and the column will expand. Go through the list and locate “Status Updates” click, hold and drag it to the top of the column. This will automatically set it up as default.
Status updates is the closest thing they have to the live feed now.

I agree with John Morgan enormously. Most people don’t have a clue that FB is filtering out stuff they were accustomed to seeing … not to mention that the algorithm is a guessing game at best, It sure doesn’t work for me and some of my good friends who missed my posts completely because of this. The default setting should give folks what they’re used to. FB could add the option and send out messages describing what’s new, letting people try it out … and give feedback on how well it’s working for them. The programmers would also learn a lot from that exercise!
