Create a web site, Tip 6: Incentives!
Our History, Our Philosophy, Our Services, Your Feedback Add commentsIf the core goal of your web site is create leads (meaning have people contact you from your web site)…
…you’re going to want to offer them an incentive to do so.
This is part 6 of my 7 part series on how to Create an Amazing Web Site! It’s also available on iTunes. This entire series is also available in an eBook on our Web Site.
If you’re like most, you really want to connect with the visitors of your web site.
It’s important that you have compelling, engaging content that empathetically addresses
your visitor’s:
- needs,
- wants,
- fears (and how you’ll put them to rest), and
- pain (how you’ll help them out of the pain they’re in, or help them avoid it all together!)
Remember, the highest conversions are reached when your content is about them.
Try not to “we all over yourself”.
Keep the content about you to your About section & the rest of the content about the visitor.
One of the best techniques for converting visitors is through an incentive on your Home
Page, such as an eBook (for an example, see our web site at: www.ISGFL.com). You’re just looking for an e-mail address to follow up with!
We strongly recommend using titles that the visitor will just have to click. Must click titles usually start with: ‘7 Crucial Tips For…’, ‘Top 10 Things You Need To Know About…’, ‘3 Things You’re Missing Out On If…’, or “How To…”
Keep in mind, on average, less than 40% of your first time visitors will ever return to your
site. Do whatever you can to get their contact information so you can follow up with them with such things as an automated e-mail campaign (we strongly suggest ConstantContact or MailChimp).
If you’d like to learn more, contact me, and we’ll see how we can develop some ideas for you.
