“How can I help you?”
If you’re a shopper – you’ve probably heard that question dozens of times…
My question to you is:
Does your web site answer the question “How can I help you”?
Before you answer, let’s qualify the people you’ll be asking –
Basically, there are four types of web visitors:
- Buyers – The people who know exactly what they want, are ready to buy, and will buy the moment they find the exact thing they are looking for.
- Shoppers – The people who will probably buy — however, they are looking for a comfortable site (professional, easy-to-use) that offers the best information, and in most cases: incentives, and guarantees.
- Learners – The people who may or may not have a need — nonetheless they’re interested in learning more about you and what you have to offer (think of them as window shoppers).
- The Lost – The people who aren’t interested in what you have to offer, and have landed at the wrong place.
With that in mind –
How do you properly help those four types of visitors?
Here’s the short list:
- Keep your web site simple.
- Appeal to emotions, rather than logic – remember:
- “emotions sell, logic seals the deal“
- Provide quick, efficient navigation –
- 3 to 5 buttons on your home page
- “two clicks to anything”
- consistent, easy-to-use design
- Provide information for the Learners (the most overlooked group).
- Assure The Lost know they’re not at the right place.
- Have a very clear call to action on every page.
- Provide clear, concise descriptions.
- In most cases, have incentives & guarantees.
- Have a simple, clear checkout process with no surprises.
Would you like to see these concepts in action? Then be sure to visit our ISG Web Site, and I think you’ll get the idea.
If you’d like to review how to use these concepts, or review the “long list” (as I call it – the ISG Blueprint to Extraordinary Results) contact me and we’ll set up a phone call, or meeting, at a time and day that works for you.
Would you like a free lunch? Yep, it’s my treat! Let me know and we’ll review the “long list”, along with any questions you may have, at one of the tastiest places in SW Florida – Something Special Cafe, in with Publix at Summerlin & Colonial.
