Life’s short, love what you do

I feel like there is only one person on this planet who I’ve met that is potentially more passionate about life, people and finding his purpose in this world than I am.

And that would be…

Sebastian Bach & Charly Caldwell - After Jekyll & Hyde - 2000.

…Mr. Sebastian Bach.

From the late 80′s to mid-90′s, when he fronted the rock band, Skid Row…

…to going on his own in the late 90′s and doing Broadway (lead in Jekyll & Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar and Rocky Horror Picture Show)…

…to having his own VH-1 TV Show, Forever Wild…

…to becoming an almost regular on the hit TV Show, the Gilmore Girls…

…to being part of the VH-1 Reality Show – SuperGroup (of which he was nice enough to refer the creation of the web site to us)…

…to releasing his second solo CD a few weeks ago entitled – Angel Down…

…and the numerous projects in between.

He’s absolutely non-stop!

It was over 10 years ago when I was surfing around and found a web page he had created where he was keeping fans up to date with his latest happenings (he had a blog before blog was even a word).

In one of his postings he asked if someone could help him get a better web address — of course, I jumped right on it — securing and setting up SebastianWeb.com & SebastianBach.com.

He responded with a big “Thank You” right away.

Initially we talked about our love for the rock band KISS –

How KISS really inspired him and how he collected (and still collects) KISS memorabilia.

How my company at the time, ISMI, had created the Enhanced Menu for KISS’s latest release, PsychoCircus, and had simultaneously started hosting the very first KISSOnline Web Site for Sony.

Being a huge fan of his work, I mentioned how the song “Slave to the Grind” (from Skid Row’s second CD) was my catalyst & theme song for going out on my own, starting my own business, in May of 1995.

Once, while we were partying in the early morning hours in NYC (after his Jekyll & Hyde performance) I mentioned how impressed I was with his motivation and constant drive to succeed.

To which, he said:

“You know what – Charly – every night before I go to sleep, I ask myself – How much ass did I kick today, and how can I possibly kick more tomorrow. To be honest, I never thought anyone would buy a CD with me on it – but I just kept at it and 22 million later — here I am!”

Thank you Sebastian, as I’ve always said, you’ve inspired me, and thousands of others to go out and make a living doing something they enjoy.

(A big thank you too, for thanking me in your new CD – that was a huge surprise – I really appreciate it.)
